Ads on jre spotify11/13/2023 Whoever is running the conglomerate that JRE is a member of, whether thats Joe with the multiple subsidiaries he owns or a media management company, is placing ads for maximum profit. Time Warner is one of the biggest owners of major youtube channels right now, spotify is just trying to catch up. Advertisers are then buying space from that network which is then broadcast across every content creator on that network and cross polinating audiences for more exposure to the network by having all the youtubers or twitch streamers in constant collaborations with each other to boost the value of ad space. Going back to youtube look at the model that is rapidly taking over, Networks are forming which are buying up smaller youtubers. This isn't a Joe Rogan exclusive problem and it isn't a Spotify problem, its the natural course back to the cable television model because that model is the one which makes the most money. Thats not even taking into account sponsored content which is a big ad bracketed by multiple smaller ads. So it was possible to pay for Youtube Premium, get an ad before the video, then an ad immediately after from the content creator then another youtube ad mid content followed by another creator inserted ad. You can use ad-blockers but I pay for Youtube Premium because it supported creators I watched and gave me access to youtube music, not long after ad-pocalypse all career youtubers started putting ads they recorded themselves into their content to supplement the loss of revenue from the ads Youtube was running on their content. Youtube for example started doing it just after the ad-pocalypse. Its not a problem that is exclusive to JRE and Spotify, its been happening across most platforms for quite a while, specifically since pre-roll ad revenue fell off. I'm not on Instagram or Twitter but if you are, please blast Joe so hopefully he sees and decides to comment on what is going on. Maybe its a setting that Spotify defaults for content creators that he didn't change (I know I am reaching but still). I would like some clarity so my goal is to raise enough awareness so that Joe will speak to the topic. So, either Joe had a change of heart and hasn't talked about it or is not aware that his long form podcasts are being broken up by shitty ads. On NUMEROUS occasions, Joe has told guests that he emphatically does not like to split up the podcast for listeners because it ruins the flow. But rather, something I just read.Īs many people have been complaining about this, Spotify responded saying "they allow their content creators (JRE in this case) the ability to add "dynamic ads" that will play somewhere during their podcast. Why I am posting is not so much FUCK Spotify, although the fact that I pay for a premium family account that was advertised as NO ADS but still have ads is infuriating. I finally heard my first "Spotify" ad on a JRE podcast, not one of his pre-recorded sponsors which I can skip through if I choose to. another complainer about ads on Joe's podcast.
